a gijinka of my favorite thing: my violin.
-she eats candy because she demands her candy everyday (by candy, i mean rosin. the bow's not in it's mint condition anymore)
-she has a tuft of white hair because, despite her appearance, she is OLD (yeah she was used by 3 generations of my family; 4 people, and only one of them can play her properly and that person is not me)
-she wear a slightly oversized pants because i put on a viola bridge on her strings (a little bit cut off to match a violin's bridge size) and a bit torn because i always suck at playing sul ponticello (yeah the bridge's a bit worn off now)
-she wears a band aid because... there's a part that i actually cover using a band aid near the neck rest

A very, very interesting image. I believe that many musicians attribute personalities to their musical instruments--much the way in feudal Indonesia warriors would attribute spiritual properties to a kris, or a particular batik pattern, or an old gamelan instrument. I own four guitars, and each has a name and a personality, for sure. Sometimes, I'll want to play one in particular and it won't let me, until I've cleaned it or coaxed it -- sort of a personal selamatan, know what I mean?
